low quality and poor fit

Review by Theo Krupp on 1/7/2020

For $500 it should have fit properly and have the trigger shelf cut . No factory trigger will EVER work with this grip. Expect a four to five hour installation. RE From Limcat: The Limcat Checker grips will not have a visible “trigger bar shelf” as we remove the unnecessary material above the trigger bar in the front of the grip. This leaves it with a flush look that may be confused as not being cut. The grip is cut to allow most aftermarket triggers (Infinity, Geppert, STI, or Limcat) to work with little to no modification when used with our Limcat 2011-style frame. When using other manufacturer’s frames, the amount of modification will vary depending on the frame manufacturer and trigger you use.

Awesome grip

Review by Kevin on 5/6/2019

Ordered this grip after much debate, there are several choices. I didn't want to add a ton of weight but wanted some extra. I didn't want super aggressive hand bleeding grip, but still wanted to get a positive grip. This grip fit the bill, I am not a gunsmith, that being said I was able to fit the grip to my SVI frame pretty easily. The only area that took longer was fitting the trigger. With Shooters connection's normal excellent customer service, and quick shipping aside, I also had some questions for the manufacturer of the grip. I emailed a hail Mary on Friday night while trying to fit the trigger, i wasn't expecting an answer for a while. Then on Saturday morning i got the information i needed and all was well. I couldn't believe how well i was taken care of. All in all great grip for my small chubby hands, and just enough aggressiveness. Thanks again!

Unique and well made

Summary: Buy this if you want a steel grip for small hands and options to put different magwells, magazine releases, and MSHs on your gun. It took a decent amount of fitting for my standard width STI frame. Purchased this after deciding other steel grips were heavier than I liked, and I didn't want ergos like the PT EVO, Cheely E2, etc. Comes in at 8.5oz on my scale, about 6oz heavier than my STI polymer grip. Checkering is grippy, but not so aggressive you're bleeding after 50 rounds. I would say it's about on par with a well stippled polymer grip. If aggressive steel micropocket textures are a 10 and a factory STI polymer grip is a 1, then I would say this is about a 5. There are no sharp points. The tapered profile is probably why someone should consider this. It's a slim grip, probably the smallest available for 2011s. Profile is like a wedge; the rear of the grip feels similar to a 1911 with slim grips, while the front of the grip feels similar to a slightly reduced STI grip.
