It won't release when you lay a pistol on a flat surface or when you're shooting, because it is so low, it doesn't interfere when you don't want it to. The product is great when it doesn’t unscrew and fall out in the middle of a match. Add a note to the instructions- use blue Loctite. This is the reason for the low rating.
