Blade-Tech Black Ice holster

Review by scott on 3/16/2014

The Black Ice holster itself is actually very nice, great fit to my gun, and the retention adjustments are spot on. I gave it a rating of only average due to the poor type of retaining screws used that hold the holster to the offset, and offset to the belt assembly. They are a 2 piece machine head bolt outside and a flat female insert on inside of holster. Because the back of the flat head female insert that is on the inside of the holster is smooth, it spins against the smooth Kydex, and will not unscrew without putting a screwdriver between the holster and offset causing pressure to try and keep it from spinning. perhaps the insert female piece could have the little grip teeth like others use, this would stop the spinning and allow it to unscrew. Maybe I just got an odd one, but the time it took, and the difficulty to take apart to make adjustments was not acceptable.

Great Holster for Single Stack USPSA

I was a little concerned when I first held it in my hand. I haven't shot competition for almost 20 years and was worried about a plastic holster. First match out of the box it worked great.
