As a southpaw with better than 35 years behind the 1911, I have some definite opinions on what make a good thumb safety. This unit from Ed Brown is very nice and one I will be using on future guns. Easy install and excellent ergonomic shape, coupled with what I feel is the best method of holding "my side" lever on...a dovetail hammer pin!
