For those shooters / competitors who simply prefer to have a muzzle support on their competition holster, DAA has now found the perfect solution.  Now, there is no need to choose a lacking competitor brand in order to have your "cake and eat it too".

Muzzle supports have been around for years, as have Race Holsters without them.  The use is a simple matter of preference.  Although most users find that Race Holsters function perfectly fine without the additional muzzle support, there are some advantages to using this extension.  The muzzle support prevents the pistol from being dislodged upwards, which could happen if bumped on the users thigh, or against a prop, during a walkthrough, if the pistol was left unlocked in the holster.  Although, all pistols should be LOCKED in their holsters when not on the line and ready to shoot, there is the possibility of one being left unlocked, and in that specific situation, the possiblity of the pistol being pushed upward and dislodged from the holster as described above.  The muzzle support prevents this from occurring.

With some specific gun types, it is difficult to keep the pistol from slightly rotating in the holster, when held only by the trigger guard.  This is particularly noticable with pistol types which have round trigger guards, such as is the case with most 1911's, Para's, and revolvers.  The muzzle support keeps the gun rock solid in place and prevents any chance of movement or rotation at all.  In the case of extra heavy revolvers, the muzzle support helps carry (support) the weight and secures the revolver in all conditions.

DAA does not want to lose a valued customer because they feel an absolute need for this extra support in their holster, so now DAA has made it possible to use the exceptionally popular Race Master and Racer Holsters with this additional muzzle support option.

Starting in spring of 2014, DAA has begun adding to all Race Master bodies and additional M8 threaded hole in the bottom of the holster body, allowing for the DAA Race Master / Racer Muzzle Support Assembly to be added easily and efficiently. For any customer who has recently purchased one of the newer holsters, all they need do is purchase the basic Muzzle Support Assembly (consisting of the vertical rod, the muzzle platform, and the muzzle pin).  If the user has an older holster and able to have it drilled and tapped with an M8 threaded hole, then there is no need for any addtional parts.

If the user's holster is older and does not have the threaded hole and the user is unable or willing to have it added, then DAA offers another solution.  A drop-on Race Master Muzzle Support Body Adapter is available, which attaches to the existing holster body without the need of any modification or additional fitting.  Note, that this part is available for the RIGHT-HAND Race Master Holster ONLY (not left-hand RM, or Racer holsters).

If the user plans to use this muzzle support for a revolver, then the user will need in addition, the Race Master / Racer Muzzle Support Revolver Adapter.  This adapter serves to extend the muzzle support further forward for revolver use.  Note that this adapter can be attached directly to the holster body (if the M8 hole is there / made) or can be attached onto the Race Master Muzzle Support Body Adapter. (sold separately)

To use the Muzzle Support Assembly on a Racer Holster, the user will need to drill and tap an M8 threaded hole into the body of the holster.

Helped take care of the binding on the draw.

I bought this to keep my DAA race holster from catching and binding. It would catch from time to time on the draw and adding this seems to have gotten rid of that. Easy to adjust. Would have been nice if they could have put an Allen key hole in the end to tighten it into the holster body with as you have to use pliers and risk scratching it up.

Essential for Raound Trigger Guards

Review by IVC on 12/10/2019

I have added muzzle support after having issues drawing a S&W 929 at a local Steel Challenge match. Small rotation of the gun inside the holster would make it VERY sticky - it would lock and require fiddling to make it release. This extension keeps the gun properly aligned so the gun is always in the correct position. I find this much more important than the advertised "prevents bumps" - the lock is there to keep the gun in the holster (my Limited and Open holster don't have it and don't need it).

Great add on

If you have an Open gun and a rounded trigger guard you need this and it will lock up nice and solid.
